Constables Accounts of Manchester between 1633 - 1647, on CD Rom. It is packed with 318 pages of information.
For those not familiar with Constables accounts, the constables had the task of recording much of the towns activity. These ledgers including such things as town passes & transportations.
If you imagine a modern day passport, in these times people moved from place to place by means of a pass issued by the Constable, the details given were usually the name of the person transferring village, the village they were going to & the person taking them & what that person was paid for doing so.
This CD Rom is a potential Brick Wall buster for genealogists in a rut !
