Richmond is one of the most scenic towns in Britain; Swaledale is one of the country’s most beautiful and inspirational rural areas. This book paints a picture of Richmond and some of the nearby towns and villages through old images and modern photographs and shows particular parts of the town and dale at the end of the nineteenth and the early twentieth century and how these same places look today in 2010.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Paul Chrystal is the current owner of the Knaresborough bookshop and has a background in medical publishing of more than 30 years.
Mark Sunderland has been a keen photographer since the age of 11 and his speciality is landscapes. He was highly commended in the 2000 Wildlife Photographer of The Year Competition for Composition and Form. Mark has been a freelance photographer since 2004.
Both authors live in Knaresborough.
