Scotland is a haunted nation with hundreds of ghosts frequenting buildings old and new. It is also a land of castles and virtually every one seems to be haunted. Yet country houses are haunted too and even small private houses located in the midst of housing estates have ghosts of their own. There are haunted battlefields, mountain spectres, Viking longboats, ghostly vehicles and bouncing cannonballs. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dane Love was born in Cumnock, Ayrshire and trained to be a teacher at Jordanhill College of Education in Glasgow. He is Honorary Secretary of the Scottish Covenanter Memorials Association and a committee member of Ayrshire Archaeological and Natural History Society. He has written a number of highly acclaimed books, including Scottish Kirkyards, Scottish Ghosts, Ayrshire: Discovering a County and Ayr Past and Present. He lives in Auchinleck.
