SEARCHABLE DATABASE

Here you can search for possible ancestors. If you find what you believe is a match you can buy the report via Paypal & you will be sent an e mail link so you can download the PDF report file.  If you don't have an Adobe reader you can get one for free from Adobe.com

Our database contains reports on Criminals, Army Deserters, Soldiers, Airmen, Mariners, Railway & Mining Accidents etc.... Enter keywords such as SURNAME, CHRISTIAN NAME, BIRTH YEAR, BIRTHPLACE leaving single spaces between your keywords.

Please note that in the case of criminals, if a birth year cannot be established even by estimation, we enter the year of a crime instead.

In many instances a birth year is a very close estimate.

The same logic is applied to locations, if we cannot establish a birthplace we state the area in which the crime took place.

Where we do state a birthplace if it is shown as (est) or estimated, this means that we consider this to be birthplace of the indivual based upon birth/census records.

For example John Harris reported on 6th February 1850 aged 50 would be noted in our database as born 1800 he could of been born the year previous 1799 but he would still appear in the database as 1800 for the purpose of our calculation as we don't always know their date of birth.

If he was born on 30th December 1799 he would on the 6th February 1850 actually be 50 years, 1 month & 7 days old. It is important that you understand this so that you don't discount an ancestor based on the estimated birth year being a year out.

Remember these are your ancestors, you will have a better idea of when they were actually born. It is always worth remembering that back then people themselves did not know how old they were & it was not uncommon for them to be a few years out themselves!

As I am sure you can appreciate the database is a huge undertaking that is being added to every week. If you cannot find any matches this time be sure to keep checking it on a regular basis.

Please note that we cannot refund for incorrectly ordered downloads, we try to offer as much detail as we can for you to establish a match but it is down the buyer to decide if they have found a match before committing to buy.

Depending upon the nature of the original documents condition i.e. how fragile it is will go towards determining if we scan/photograph or translate the information to a word doc for conversion to PDF.

Many documents have to be translated regardless of condition for reasons such as the text being very small or photography/scanning is not possible for risk of damage to originals.
