ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Phil Smith was born in Crosby, Liverpool and lived from the early age of two to nine at Ainsdale. He returned to the area in 1968 as a Lecturer in Applied Biology at Liverpool John Moores University. Phil retired in 1992; retirement provided him with the opportunity to continue monitoring and photographing wildlife on the dune coast.
